Islamabad: The Federal Investigation Agency has initiated an inquiry into the Padel Group (Mudassir Arain Group) over alleged unlawful activities, as outlined in an official notice.

According to the notice, the group’s president, Muhammad Mateen, has been summoned by FIA Karachi on April 2, 2026, in connection with the ongoing inquiry. The inquiry has been triggered by concerns regarding the group’s conduct in relation to claims over the national padel federation.

In parallel, the Pakistan Sports Board (PSB), acting in compliance with directives of the Sindh High Court, has rejected the affiliation application submitted by the Mudassir Arain group, citing regulatory violations and issues linked to the alleged unlawful activities.

The decision comes as part of PSB’s mandate to adjudicate competing claims for the formation of a recognised national sports federation for padel. The PSB’s ruling addresses overlapping claims and establishes a clear and unified pathway for the sport’s governance in Pakistan, effectively setting aside rival factions that had delayed institutional progress.

The decision has also been formally communicated to the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) to ensure legal continuity and proper regulatory alignment of the recognised body moving forward.
