Sindh Transport and Information Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon stated on Thursday that the Sindh provincial government intended to begin construction on the Karachi-Sukkur bullet train project, according to ARY News,
He made this statement while serving in a meeting about Karachi’s Yellow Line BRT project. A group from the World Bank and representatives from the transport ministry were present at the meeting.
The minister stated that the World Bank’s assistance is required for the Sindh government’s planned Karachi-Sukkur bullet train project.
He addressed that the Sindh government is making a lot of effort to improve Karachi’s transportation system.
The minister added that the World Bank was working with the government to develop the first phase of the Karachi-Hyderabad bullet train project.
Additionally, he requested that WB to assist in providing 300 electric buses to Karachi as part of the People Bus Service project.
