Paris: An old Frenchman aging a hundred has set an unbelievable record for the fastest 100-year-old to cover 100 km (62 miles) at the outdoor Tete-d’Or Velodrome track in Lyon, foreign news agency reported. According to the report, Robert Marchand cycled 100km in 4 hours 17 minutes and 27 seconds, cycling with an average speed of 23.305 km per hour.
Earlier, Marchand, who turns 101 on November 26, trained every day for months in hopes of crossing the finish line in less than five hours and he got his wish fulfilled
While talking to local and International media after his success, Marchland admitted, “I did a little better than I hoped. But, it was tough in the last few kilometers.”
