KARACHI: Sindh’s Senior Minister and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Zulfiqar Mirza on Tuesday rejected calls for bringing in the army to clear Karachi of troublemakers, our correspondent.
Mirza said the army’s services were not required at the moment, adding that, however, it could be called in if necessary.
He said the Frontier Constabulary (FC) had been activated in the city.
Appealing that the country should be safe of violence, Mirza said enough damage had been done and it was now time to think about Pakistan.
On the subject of the People’s Amn Committee (PAC), the senior minister said that the leadership of the committee had a clean record and there was no need to criticize it.
