During a hearing on Tuesday in the City Court, the accused Rangers officer in the Zeeshan Murder case offered an explanation for his actions. Noor-Ul-Raham stated that he saw a man trying to forcibly put a woman in a black car. There were other men surrounding her as well and one of them was also beating the woman.
Taking the incident as an attempted abduction, Noor ordered the man to stop but he ignored him. After that Noor opened fire on him which resulted in his death. The Rangers officer further explained that his intention was to fire on Zeeshan’s legs to neutralize him but the shot went awry and killed him.
Noor also stated that he feared that this event would lead to something more sinister in the vicinity of the Mosque so he sought to stop it. The case was registered after a petition filed by the victim’s sister against the Rangers officer and the victim’s wife.
The sister claimed that Zeeshan was killed on the behest of his wife who was looking for divorce and planned to kill him with the help of the Rangers officer. Judicial Magistrate Fida Hussain accepted the bail of the Rangers Officer on the payment of 24 lac Rupeess Bail money.
