Mumbai: India’s former Foreign Minister Yashwant Sinha wrote a letter to the Prime Minister of Pakistan Nawaz Sharif to defend senior journalist Hamid Mir who was injured in a gun attack on 19 April 2014 in Karachi by unknown men on his way to the Geo Office in Karachi. The letter of Yashwant Sinha stated to improve the security of journalists whereas he expressed concern over reports that the private TV channel Geo reported to be close and it will be considered an attack on press freedom.
Foreign Minister Yaswant Sinha further wrote in his letter that Hamid Mir is a bold and brave journalist as he has fought for press freedom and it would be unfortunate in the presence of Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif if Hamid Mir or Geo would be affected by any in this regard. He said that the cancellation of license of Geo is an extreme measure and should not have happened from the ISI and the Ministry.
The attack on the famous television newscaster and anchor has changed everything and has started a new battle in the country which is getting messy day by day due to some conspiracies and statements of people made it worst continuously. Also Indian media has taken advantage on this news as they are getting their mission and started disgracing the Pakistan Premium Intelligence Institution (ISI).
However, Pakistani people have demanded to investigate Geo Network and its assistants to solve the trouble and save the country from their dreadful line of attack of creating hatred between the people and the armed forces.
