Lahore: Pakistani and Indian women soldiers will soon take part in flag lowering ceremony held every evening at the Wagah Border, International newspaper reported Tuesday.
According to the report published in Times of India, Pakistan Rangers and India’s Border Security Force (BSF) have agreed to have women platoon commanders for the ceremonial beating retreat held at the same time by the two forces at the Attari-Wagah border.
However, both sides have agreed on the terms that after they develop perfect coordination, they will begin conducting the parade.
The people here wonder why our Army is becoming so moderate, so liberal. Are they short of men in their Army or they just need women in everything, side by side with them? This is not the place or way to give women freedom. Our women have many other things to do, involving them with men in the Army would only create troubles in the most sensitive department of the State.
