Lahore: Secretary General Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Liaqat Baloch has demanded of the international community to raise its voice for the Kashmiri people for their due right of self determination. In a statement issued here at Mansoora on Saturday, he urged the international community to play its due role to bring an end the atrocities being made by the Indian army in Kashmir.
He said India had occupied Kashmir for over fifty years and its 0.8 million security personnel had bereaved them of their fundamental human rights. He deplored that despite the reports of Amnesty International on violation of basic human rights in Kashmir by Indian army, the international community had kept mum over the issue.
He criticized the role of the United Nations over Kashmir issue saying it had played a shameful and biased act over Kashmir issue. “The UN had divided Sudan under the influence of false propaganda of the Christian community but it had always neglected the Kashmir issue,” he added.
He said the world peace was threatened due to the diplomatic and dual standard of the UN. He appealed to the OIC and Muslim countries to chalk out a strategy for the freedom of Palestine and Kashmir and force the UN and international community to solve these issues.
