Ankara: Following the attack on Turkish soil by Syrian forces yesterday that killed about five Turk citizens, the Turkish Air force today launched an attack on Syrian border area and killed several already under attack Syrian soldiers, opposition group in Syria reported Thursday morning.
According to the reports, the attack came as retaliation from the Turkish forces against the Syrian mortar attack that reportedly killed five people. In response, Turkey called for Cabinet meeting late yesterday night and the majority decided to go for attack against the oppression or Syrian regime.
Activists at the Turkish -Syrian border said via phone that Turkey launched an assault at the military posts of the Syrian government in the Tal Abyad region.
Meanwhile, Turkey, a member of NATO, immediately after the shelling called for an emergency meeting of NATO ambassadors in Brussels under Article 4, which allows for sessions if a NATO member state feels its sovereignty, is under threat.
