LAHORE: Ten persons have been died whereas 30 to 40 others have been buried alive as the roof of a mosque in Lahore collapsed down today. The incident has taken place in the area of Daroghawala in Lahore. According to rescue workers, ten corpses have been dug out of the debris of the roof and shifted to hospital whereas 30 to 40 people have been buried alive.
According to details, the prayer (Namaz) of post meridiem (Zohar) was being offered in the mosque, situated at GT Road at Daroghawala in Lahore when the roof of the mosque abruptly collapsed down. The rescue workers have confirmed the deaths of 10 persons in the incident so far whereas they have said that it is possible that 30 to 40 more people could be buried alive under the debris of the roof. The rescue operation is continued at the site in order to rescue the men however, the rescue workers have been facing difficulties during the operation.
The dead bodies and the injured ones have been shifted to hospital whereas the hospital sources have confirmed that ten dead bodies have been brought to hospital however, the injured ones are being provided better medical treatment. According to the initial information of the incident, one steeple of the mosque fell onto the roof of the mosque due to which two roofs of the mosque fell down and buried the men alive who were busy in the prayer.
