Karachi: Pakistani left arm off spinner Abdur Rehman who is now facing a ban of three months and has been suspended to play any sort of cricket after being tested positive for cannabis use, has apologized his fans and the game of cricket with deep sorrow, local news channel reported Wednesday.
According to the report, the 32-year-old spinner request for forgiveness from his fans, family, the PCB, the ECB, Somerset County Cricket Club and his team-mates.
“It was an error of judgement on my part that will cost me dearly and I would like it to be a lesson to all others in sports elsewhere,” said a remorseful Rehman.
However, he expressed positive hopes about his future career and look forward to make a comeback in the series against India later this year.
“I will do my best to stay fit and focused during my suspension, and God willing, will be available for selection for series against India, if the Board see me fit for the selection.”
