Losing the test series, made the New Zealanders push them to give their best in the one dayers. The black caps came back and lead the 3-match ODI series 1-0. South Africa gave a tough fight but the visitors made to the mark with twenty-six balls and a wicket to spare. The 2nd match of the series will be played on 22nd January.
January 19th did not prove to be a good day for the host, apart from losing the match they lost their skipper AB de Villiers for next two matches in charge of slow over rate. The black caps have the advantage as they lead the series and one of the fine players from the opposing team is out of the squad for the remaining matches. New Zealand should try to win the second match and seal the series.
On the other hand the South African team must win the match and level the series to keep it alive. South Africans will give their best to equalize and then win both the matches to win the series as it will boast their moral for the upcoming series against Pakistan next month.
