Sohrab Goth Gai Mandi page is currently managed by 3 Admins (Faizan Siddiqui, Rohail Kamal & Aftab Alam). This page offers complete coverage for cattle lovers. It offers a platform where the viewer can experience the flare of a Real Cattle Market while using Facebook on their phones or PCs. It provides a virtual tour of the cattle markets to those who cannot be there, with all animals in the form of high quality photos and videos.
What was the reason to start this Facebook page? Any inspiration?
We always had a liking for Eid ul Adha like most enthusiasts; we loved our cattle bought for Eid. With each Eid ul Adha, our photo/video collection of cattle and Qurbanis grew larger so as a thought of storing these images and videos we made a Facebook page for it. To our astonishment, the feedback we received in the form of comments and likes was huge. This was never the intention.
Subsequently, we realized that we can make this into a specialized Facebook page for cattle lovers. We added better quality images and videos.

What difficulties have you faced when starting your work?
Resistance came in the form of lack of support from home since we had to spend nights in the Cattle markets. Furthermore, since we started off when we were students, we had trouble commuting and money was always an issue.
Then there is always a wave of pessimism when something new is put out. People were of the view that cattle purchase based on Facebook is a flawed idea. They did not realize that we are not a cattle market, rather we merely act as promoters. Look where we are now. We have identified a market and successfully serving it.
You people were covered by News Channel, how does it feel?
Media coverage is always encouraging. Our interviews were aired on Samaa news channel. We have those news bulletin reports on our Page as well. We loved it obviously but we want more. We are planning on documentaries and more detailed coverage next year.
Have you people been approached by any Government official or by administration of Sohrab Goth Gai Mandi?
No we have not been approached by any Government official or administration of Sohrab Goth Gai Mandi yet but we do have some business proposal for next year for which administration support will be required.
Do you people earn from this Facebook page?
Yes we do make money by Cattle promotions but that does not keep us from our motto. We ensure that the cattle on our Page won’t disappoint our Facebook community. Word of mouth is essential and we don’t compromise on the high standards we have set for ourselves.
Are you using hi-tech cameras for your photos/videos?
We have an expert photographer Burhan Qureshi among us who uses top quality cameras to deliver best possible photographs for our Facebook community.
Besides Facebook which other social media platforms you are using?
No we are not using any other social media to interact with people but yes we do have plan to launch our website next year INSHA ALLAH that will not only be a source of entertainment but will also act as a platform where buying and selling will become easier.

What is your future plans regarding this page?
Our future plan is to take this page to that level where a click button will mean cattle at your doorstep… we are striving hard to make this happen. INSHA ALLAH a day will come when cattle shopping will be an online exercise 🙂
