Sindh Assembly Approves Presidential Ordinance 2012 With Majority

Karachi: Despite stern protest and sit-in against People’s Local Government Ordinance by the opposition parties in Sindh Assembly today, the majority of Sindh Provincial Assembly has approved Sindh Ordinace bill 2012, local news channel reported. The bill was presented by Provincial Law Minister Ayaz Soomro this morning.

According to the sources, only 18 members of the opposition led by Jam Madad Ali were against the bill passed today during the Assembly session. The opposition members chanted ‘Na manzoor, Na manzoor’ (unapproved) throughout the session but that failed to delay the passing of the Ordinance.

The alliance of MQM and PPP in Sindh Assembly was enough to pass the bill and minority of Awami National Party, National Peoples Party, Functional League and PML-Q were left protesting during the session.
