World fastest pace bowler Shoaib Akhtar decided to announce retirement today. Shoaib Akhtar will press conference in Colombo, Sri Lanka where he will announce about his retirement. From starting of world cup 2011 he was not completely fit but still he has great control on ball. He bowled very well in world cup matches, sometimes he lost stamina but normally it’s happened with all fast bowlers.
35 years old Shoaib Akhtar has played three matches in world cup in which he took just 3 wickets with average of 40. But remember that due to misfielding he couldn’t get 2-4 wickets. His economy rate was about 5 which could be “4” but again thanks to Pakistan’s fielders who are giving extra runs.
Shoaib Akhtar who debut in 1997 has played 163 ODI matches in which he has took 247 wickets with good average of just 25. He has decent record in test cricket in which he has got 178 wickets in just 46 matches with average of around 26. He has striking record in T20; he has played 15 T20s and got 19 wickets with average of 23.
These statistics can be more impressive if Shoaib Akhtar got full chance. He gave 14 years to Pakistan cricket but mostly he remained out of team due to injuries or team grouping conflicts.
