Abdul Rashid Godil is a member of the Pakistan National Assembly from the constituency NA 252 of Karachi. He represents the MQM. He is also known for his social work activities. Godil was born in a middle class Memon family on 7th September 1960. His father’s name was Ahmed Haji Latif Godil. His family came to settle in Pakistan after migrating from Dhoraji, India. The family resides in Karachi. He completed his primary education and matriculation from VM Public School. This school was under the management of Rangoon wala trust. He then went to Government National College of Karachi and got his degree in Commerce from there.
Godil was into social work since his teenage years. He used to teach underprivileged students for free. He also helped the needy people. He initiated his primary social activities from 1985 and was the chairman of the Abbabil Organization and vice president of the Young Scholar’s Organization. He later on joined the Dhoraji association from 1999 to 2001. He was later on selected as a MC member of the All Pakistan Memon Federation. He was the first from Dhoraji to be associated with the World Memon Organization.
