Quetta: The capital hub of the Baluchistan province was hit with three successive blasts, resulting in loss to at least 80
lives while injuring more than 160 people including a cameraman of a private new channel, DSP, SHO and the rescue workers on Thursday evening, as reported by the local news channel. A bomb had ripped the city at Bacha Khan Chowk while two bomb strikes were made at Rehmatullah Chowk at Alamdar road, Prince road and the two others at the airport road.
The first bomb explosion is said the be a suicide bombing. As the media men reached the terrorist attack scene to cover the happening, after sometime the second bomb exploded, resulting in injuries and deaths of the media men, police official and the rescuers. Imran Shiekh, cameraman of Samaa died while DSP Quaidabad Mujahid Hussain and SHO Jaffar Ali got deadly injuries.
After the incident the injured had been transferred to Civil Military Hospital of Quetta. DIG said that the death toll may be expected rise till 163.
The nearby areas are said to be heavily populated.
Update: 12: 15 AM: Another reporter of Samaa channel Saif Ur Rehman, who was said to be in a critical condition is reported as dead.
