London: President Asif Ali Zardari met the MQM founder and leader Altaf Hussain on Monday at Churchill Hotel. Federal Interior Minister Rehman Malik also accompanied the president in the meeting.Members of the Coordination Committee of the MQM Mustafa Azizabadi, Muhammad Anwer and Qasim Ali Raza were also the part of the meeting. The meeting continued for more than three and a half hours.
Both leaders exchanged theur views regarding the political and economical condition of the state in the meeting initially. The Balochistan issue, law and order situation in the country and injunction for the dual nationality. MQM chief Altaf Hussain said that Economic Stability is the need of time and government should take effective measures to ensure the economic stability. He also added that Balochistan Issue should be resolved by political strategies but not by sending forces.
Both leaders congratulated each other on Local Government Ordinance recently passed by the Sindh Government. The issue of reinstatement of Zulfiqar Mirza in PPP was also raised by the MQM in the meeting. It is believed that the interior minister Rehman Malik is against the re-entry of Mirza in the PPP.
