Karachi: renowned scientist and poet Saeed Ul Zafa Siddiqui has said that modern urdu fiction is progressing rapidly on the steps to excellence. He said that new writers are coming to the forefront and works of literature are also being released at a rapid pace. These comments were made by him at the occasion of the launch of popular writer Hameeda Sehar’s new book at the Arts Council Karachi.
Hameeda Sehar’s new book is a collection of Fiction stories titled ‘Sehar Angaiz Afsanay’ or Magical fiction. The chief guest was Dr Alia Imam at the occasion with the hosting responsibilities taken by Idrees Ghazi and introduction speech h given by committee chairman Sohail Ahmed. Other speakers at the ceremony included Professor Auj Kamal, Dr.Nuzhat Abbasi and Wali Rizvi.
Saeed Ul Zafar Siddiqui said that Hameeda Sehar’s stories portray human emotion, social values and relationships in a heartfelt manner and she takes great care of the quality of language in her works. Not only does she know the right way to tell a story but she has the talent to transform a story into a work of art. He further praised her work and said that she has a bright future in Urdu literature.
