PPP parliamentary party leader and Education Minister Pir Mazharul Haq was seen watching an Indian TV show (Farah Khan’s Tere Mere Beach Main) using his iPad. Pakistan Muslim League-Functional (PML-F) member Marvi Rashdi’s crirticised senior minister act and described as ‘shameful activity’ during the house proceedings caught on camera.
Ms Rashdi said she was ashamed to see the senior minister become involved in such activities while the house deliberated upon serious issues.
Angry at Ms Marvi’s criticism, Pir Mazharul Haq said, he regretted that he was a member of an assembly where some children were its members.
I am not at all amazed by this, as PPP ministers like other politicians are not at all serious in solving people’s problem. We have seen many members of assembly sleeping during session. But this incident is an eye opening.
As when discussion is going on Provincial Budget 2011-12, Education minister should have lead by example but he was busy in watching Indian shows. And more shocking was that instead of feeling sorry he became angry at criticism.
If this incident would have happened in any European country I am sure the education and literacy ministry would have been taken back from him.
