Islamabad: The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has proposed the government to increase the price of petrol by Rs. 1.75 per liter and ease rate of diesel by only 20 paisas per liter, media reports told Sunday. According to the reports, the authority that controls POL prices today dispatched a summary to the Petroleum Ministry regarding the change in prices of the petroleum products for approval.
The sources say that the price of kerosene oil is proposed to be cut by Rs 1.50 a liter.
Earlier, Ogra recommended the government to maintain the price of petrol at the current level and reduce the other POL prices by Rs 6.06 per liter which are to be effective from tomorrow (September 24). However, the new prices of petrol and diesel would now be affected from 12am.
