LAHORE: PCB offices and Gaddafi Stadium have been sealed due to non-payment of property tax. According to details, The Department of Excise and Taxation has sealed the offices of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and Gaddafi stadium owing to non-payment of property tax.
According to sources, the Department of Excise and Taxation issued many notices for payment of property tax but no tax was paid and hence, Gaddafi stadium was sealed. The Department also sealed PCB offices, shops and restaurants around.
According to the department, PCB has to pay 4 crore and 80 lacs under the head of property tax. It is pertinent to mention here that PCB officials have been getting stay order from court on the matter of property tax however; the court rejected the request yesterday for stay order.
After the rejection of PCB’s request by the court, the Department of Excise and Taxation issued notice to PCB to seal Gaddafi stadium. Lahore High Court yesterday ordered PCB to pay property tax and rejected the request of exemption from property tax.
