QS Asian University Rankings released the 2018 list of best universities in Asia in which only 9 Pakistani universities were ranked. Amazingly one Pakistani university was also ranked in the top 100.

- Lahore University of Management Science (LUMS) – Ranked 103
- Pakistan Institute of Engineering & Applied Science (PIEAS) – Ranked 128
- Quaid-e-Azam University – Ranked 133
- COMSATS – Ranked 190
- Karachi University (KU) – Ranked 193
- University of Engineering & Technology (UET) – Ranked 200
- Punjab University (PU) – Ranked 232
- Aga Khan University – Ranked 234
NUST was ranked among the top 100 universities which was a proud moment for Pakistani Universities which are working with limited resources.
Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) is a british company which is known because of marketing, analysis and support in higher education. It uses 10 features to rank the top universities in the world. These indicators are:
- Academic Reputation (measuring research quality)
- Employer Reputation (measuring employability)
- Staff with Ph.D. (teaching quality)
- International Faculty Ratio (measuring internationalization)
- Faculty/Student Ratio (measuring teaching quality)
