Karachi: On a special invitation of Provincial Sports Minister Dr. Mohammad Ali Shah, the World eleven Cricket team is ready to tour Pakistan to play two Twenty20 matches on 25th and 26th May here in the provincial capital, sources informed Wednesday.
Talking to media, Dr. Ali Shah told that the players of World eleven are eager to tour Pakistan and team Captain Sanath Jayasuria have also discussed about the matches via phone call.
Meanwhile, responding to a request made by Sports Minister Sindh Dr. Mohammad Ali Shah, informing PCB of a visit of ‘World XI’ to Pakistan, PCB Spokesman said, hosting an international team is a meticulous job and requires huge amount of planning while we have not been involved from the outset. Moreover, National team is busy in preparation for Sri Lanka tour, PCB has suggested postponing the matches, he added.
However, Dr. Shah still hoped that he may have some talk in this regard with Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman Zaka Ashraf on his return to country.
On the other hand, the official theme song of the Champions league has been launched by the Chief Patron of the league Senator Mustafa Kamal.
The matches of Pakistan Champions league are scheduled to commence from May 20th at different venues. All the matches are expected to be telecast on Geo super.
