Lahore: Pakistan team’s new chief selector Inzamam-ul-Haq has announced the best 21 players squad to participate in skill camp ahead upcoming series against England. Young blood is going to get the chances as 3 new players have been involved in the team: Iftikhar Ahmed, Akbar ur Rehman and Asif Zakir.
Iftikhar Ahmed the 25 years player had played 1 ODI and 1 T20 Match and now he will be likely to get the Test Cap also. Akbar ur Rehman the 32 year player will also likely to debut this year for National team. He had represented Pakistan in Asian Games in 2010.
Asif Zakir the 32 year player who plays for Sui Southern Gas Corporation had scored most runs in year 2015-16 in Quaid-e-Azam trophy with a total of 791 runs for the tournament.
Inzamam ul Haq in his interview at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore stated that:
[junkie-alert style=”white”]“I went to watch players train during the camp. They were going through some hard drills and all the players were really enjoying it.”[/junkie-alert]
The skill camp to start from 30th May and will be ended till 5th June. As Pakistan will going to start his tour to England from 14th July and have to play some practice matches also.
The 22 players which are selected for skill camp are divided into 4 categories:
Openers: Shan Masood, Sami Aslam, Khurram Manzoor, Mohammad Hafeez (subject to fitness)
Middle Order: Azhar Ali, Misbah ul Haq, Younis Khan, Asad Shafiq, Sarfraz Ahmed, Muhammad Rizwan
Seamers: Rahat Ali, Junaid Khan, Sohail Khan, Imran Khan, Ehsan Adil , Mohammad Amir , Wahab Riaz (subject to selection)
Spinners: Yasir Shah, Zulfiqar Babar
