Islamabad: Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani now holds another distinction of being the longest serving Prime Minister in the history of country, as he has served Pakistan as a Premier for more than 1526 days till now.
PM Gilani entered the office on 25th March, 2008 after Pakistan People’s Party swept the elections with simple majority and form the coalition government.
Extra specialty he holds is that by now he is the only PM of Pakistan who has been convicted by the court but still continues to work in the Head of the Government office.
It is to mention here that Liaquat Ali Khan was the last longest serving Prime Minister of Pakistan who held the office for 1524 days, Zulfikar Ali Bhutto remained PM for 1421 days and Shaukar Aziz for 1183 days.
