Pakistan and Turkmenistan have agreed to join hands against terrorism, smuggling of weapons, Narcotics, immigrants problems and to resolve other issues. President Asif Ali Zardari and President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymukhammedov on Monday agreed on expediting projects on energy cooperation and bilateral trade.
Both countries have resolved to expedite the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India gas pipeline project, adding that both countries would strengthen ties with international community.
President Asif Ali Zardari has said that the improvement in regional cooperation is guarantee for prosperity in the region. President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymukhammedov has said that his visit to Pakistan proved to be milestone in bilateral cooperation.
In a meeting held at the Presidency, the two leaders expressed the resolve to expedite the $7.6 billion Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India gas pipeline project, which was inked last December in Ashgabat. Both leaders addressed a joint press conference after meeting.
