NADRA (NAtional Database Registration Authority Project) has launched a new National Identity Card (NIC) known as NADRA Smart Card. The Smart Card has a SIM (subscriber identity module) card which provides many facilities to its user. It can be used as Identity Card, ATM, credit card, car or weapon license, company pass and including more than 35 functions more.
Where NADRA has produced a system to facilitate the citizens it needs fund which NADRA has tried to overcome via the issuance fees of the card that is around Rs.1500. The step taken by the officials seems better but the public who are facing the harshness caused by the inflation in the country are not able to afford and pay for the fee of the Smart Card.
Apart from all the facilities the card provides to the people, they have demanded to reduce its price as it is not in their reach to afford such high prices. The people have advised to reduce the price of card to around Rs 100 which can be affordable to a common man.
