The newly elected interim premier Shahid Khaqan is facing the charge of a Rs220 billion corruption inquiry which was being carried out by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB).
Remember, Shahid Khaqan, the former minister for petroleum and natural resources, has been blamed for involving in corruption for liquefied natural gas (LNG) import contract; while, the corruption case has been registered against him by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on 29th July 2015.
On the issue, the spokesperson of National Accountability Bureau commented that the corruption charge against Mr. Abbasi had been closed on merit by the NAB Karachi local broad meeting on 19th December 2016.
Interestingly, the case has been closed with the conclusion that liquefied natural gas (LNG) import contract has been conducted on non-transparently.
According to the chairman of NAB, this case will take 10 months to proceed. While on the other hand, the chairman of the PTI, Mr. Khan, has decided to lodge a petition against Mr. Abbasi.
