Lahore: Ameer, Jamaat e Islami, Pakistan, Syed Munawar Hasan, has cautioned the US and the Western rulers that the Muslims would be found ready to sacrifice their lives for the sake of the sanctity of the Holy Prophet. He has also warned the rulers in Islamabad that mere summoning the US envoy in the Foreign Office was not enough as the nation wanted to know the outcome of the government protest on the issue. He was addressing a huge public meeting in Dir on Sunday. JI deputy chief, Sirajul Haq, and other leaders were also present. Disapproving violence in principle, the JI Ameer slated Federal Information Minister Kaira’s remarks about Friday’s protests. He said the nation still remembered how the PPP workers had gone berserk on Benazir Bhutto’s assassination setting ablaze railway stations, petrol pumps, banks, hundreds of vehicles and political parties offices resulting in losses in billions. He said the protection of the Holy Prophet’s sanctity was an undisputed issue for the Muslim Ummah and the US film based on blasphemy had hurt the sentiments of one a half billion Muslims.
Syed Munawar Hasan lamented that the Muslims rulers at present stood as defenders of the US who had been repeatedly indulging in sacrilege of the Quran and blasphemy of the Holy Prophet. He asked the Muslim rulers to think how would they justify their conduct on the dooms day. The JI Ameer called for faming an international law guaranteeing respect to all religions including Islam. He also called upon the Pakistan government to close the US embassy in Islamabad till Washington banned the blasphemous film and gave exemplary punishment to the culprits
The JI Ameer said that Mumtaz Qadri, who gunned down the ex Punjab Governor Salman Taseer for his blasphemous statements was behind the bars, but millions of Mumtaz Qadris had come forth by now.
He said in fact the American civilization had been defeated and the Islamic civilization was replacing it. These acts of desecration and blasphemy were simply the West’s reaction over this change. Syed Munawar Hasan further said that President Zardari and Mian Nawaz Sharif had failed to solve the peoples problems. Likewise, he said, Maulana Fazlur Rehman too had been a failure. Maulana was still a part of the Baluchistan government while the province was facing the biggest law and order situation. Therefore, he said, the masses should be wise to come under the banner of the Jamaat e Islami for the safeguarding the country’s independence and sovereignty and also for the solution of their economic problems.
He said that Dir district was the bastion of Islamic revolutionaries and a revolution would start from this land.
