The 1965 war between Pakistan & India was one of the major wars in subcontinent after Second World War. It saw the largest tank battle and largest armoured vehicles movement after Second World War.
During these difficult times Pakistani President General Ayub Khan sent a delegation to China which met Chinese revolutionary leader Mao Zedong.
Mao Zedong accepted Pakistan’s request for help and promised to provide all material and technical support without any cost. These revelation were made by senior journalist Mujeeb-ur-Rehman Shami.
He said that Pakistani delegation prepared a long list and prepared for the tough negotiations but were astonished after meeting Chinese ruler who without any negotiation accepted Pakistan’s request for help.
The war erupted after Indian occupied Kashmir faced insurgency after which Indian retaliated by attacking Pakistan. After the strong reaction and counter operation the attacked Punjab border to divert Pakistan’s attention.
