NEW DELHI: Indian skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni got engaged with Sakshi Singh Rawat, a hotel management graduate, at a private ceremony in Hotel Bhagirath, Dehradun.
Harbhajan Singh, Suresh Raina and Ashish Nehra reportedly attended the ceremony. Sakshi and Dhoni have been seeing each other for close to two years, and the wedding is expected later this year.
After completing school at Welham, Dehradun, Sakshi, now 23, studied at the Institute of Hotel Management in Aurangabad. She is based in Kolkata. Her father works at a tea estate in Binnaguri in North Bengal.
Dhoni, who is currently enjoying a short break after winning the Asia Cup, has a gruelling international season ahead leading up to the 2011 World Cup, to be held in the subcontinent.
India will leave for Sri Lanka on July 10 to play three Tests and a tri-series also involving New Zealand. Shortly thereafter, India play New Zealand and Australia at home
