In the recent few months Karachi has become one of those cities where value of life is second only to zero. Many people have been killed in the metropolitan city. According to Human Rights Commission of Pakistan’s (HRCP) more than 1100 people have been killed this year till now. However, still life is going on very fast pace in Karachi.
Killing, mobile snatching, dacoity have become so common that people living in Karachi takes it as a normal routine. Police has failed to overcome these problems and it looks that police is only taking salary for watching these crime as spectators. TV channels mostly airs the news regarding bad things, positive things which can also motivate others to do good thing should be telecast.
Imagine what children feels after watching television that only situation is bad in the city. Now their parents/elders says that law and order situation is not good in the city as shown in the TV therefore we can’t go out for the outing. Media should become more responsible as it plays a very important role in building up the society.
The way the recent incident of man jumping from 8th floor in Karachi was aired was disappointing. TV channels should lead by example and should take care of the feelings of every viewer.
