Javed Iqbal is considered to be Pakistan’s most dangerous serial killer who killed at least 100 boys and then surrendered himself. All of his victims were young boys who were sodomized or raped before murder.
This is a brief story about this barbaric murdered who lived a luxurious life and killed poor young boys to revenge his past.
Early Life & Family:
Javed Iqbal who is also known as Kukri was born in Lahore on 8th October 1956. He was the fourth son of Mohammad Ali Mughal, who was a well known & rich trader.
He completed his matriculation from Islamia High School and then joined Islamia College to complete his intermediate. According to media reports he was interested in continuing his education despite the support from family, hence he started his own business.
Javed Iqbal as a Businessmen:
Javed Iqbal set up his steel recasting business in 1978 when he was still a student in Islamia College, Rail Road. The building in Shadbagh where he started his business was a villa which was purchased by his father recently.
He also lived in the building but not alone, many young boys accompanied him because of his wealth and luxurious life style. Javed Iqbal used his money and business to attract these boys who were sodomized by him.
Family Reaction:
Javed Iqbal’s family was unaware of the lifestyle of their young son until they moved in Shadbagh. As any other family they tried to stop him but Javed Iqbal was not ready to allow his family to interrupt his lifestyle.
Marriage:
As any other traditional family his parents also tried to arrange his marriage hoping that wedding may change the behavior of Javed Iqbal, but he resisted any such attempt.
In 1983 he agreed to marry a girl of his own choice, his family became happy but later it was revealed that the bride was elder sister of a young boy who was sodomized by Javed. He only married his sister to continue their relationship.
He also married his younger sister with one of his boys named Muhammad Iqbal, he did this to continue the relationship with Iqbal.
Serial Killer:
The 100 boys who were killed by Javed Iqbal were aged between 6 to 16. Most of his victims were young boys from Shadbagh, he chose street boys who had no family members to find them or poor kids who he knew would not have the resources to locate their son.
Javed Iqbal opened a video game shop which was only to find new victims. He would offer tokens at reduced prices or even for free just to make these young boys his friend. It is said that he would throw 100 rupees note and after the note is picked by a kid he will announced that some cash has been stolen.
Then he will search all the boys and when the kid is found with the Rs. 100 note he will threaten him on stealing and take him to another room. In that adjacent room he will rape the young boy and give back the money to lure him for future.
Sometimes he would kill his victim and throw his body while in most cases he used a chemical which would dissolve the body of the victim. This reflected that he had psychological problems.
Lifestyle:
He maintained a luxurious lifestyle which attracted young boys to live with him. He had a Pajero in which he was seen roaming along with boys, once he owned four cars Pajero, a Lancer, a Toyota and a Suzuki FX.
After his father death he received Rs. 3.5 million through which he built another house along with a swimming pool, this was all to attract more young boys.
Death Penalty:
In December 1999 he wrote a letter to a newspaper in which he accepted his crimes and provided details for the authorities. His house was raided where drums of chemicals with dissolved human remains were found. He also left a note for the police.
On 30 December 1999 he handed himself in Daily Jang from where police arrested him after proceedings he was sentenced to death, on judgement day he was found happy smiling after hearing the verdict.
But before the execution he was found dead in his cell, it is said he committed suicide.
