Islamabad: A Pakistani scholar affiliated with Faculty of Pharmacy & Alternative Medicine Islamia University of Bahawalpur has been short listed under the category “Young Researcher” of the Lush Prize 2012. Tariq Mahmood, a HEC PhD qualified scholar is the only one young scholar who has been nominated from whole Asia.
According to details collected from several sources, as many as six young scholars from all across the world have been chosen for this important award. The scholars from nominated countries include Pakistan, UK, USA, Italy, Norway and Portugal.
A special awards ceremony will be held on November 15th 2012 in London where the announcement for winners would be made.
The Lush Prize is the foremost worldwide initiative focusing on toxicity testing for consumer products. The winning prize consists of a £250,000 annual fund which is the biggest prize in the non-animal testing sector.
