Karachi: Governor Sindh Dr.Ishrat-ul-Ibad has signed a bill to give Indus Institute of Higher Education the level of Indus University and now it is upgraded as varsity and included in the list of universities. Indus Institute was founded in 2004 as a result of an ordinance.
Earlier on Thursday, a bill was passed unanimously which was tabled by Law Minister Ayaz Soomro in Sindh Assembly to upgrade the Indus Institute of Higher Education, Karachi as Indus University.
The university will have faculties of science, engineering, health and medical science, agriculture and agricultural engineering, pharmacy, information technology, fashion designing, arts, mass communication, veterinary medical sciences, management sciences, law, social sciences and Islamic learning, humanities and performing arts, alternative energy, textile, fine arts, visual studies and others.
