Islamabad: Foreign Minister of India SM Krishna landed in Pakistan today (September 7, 2012) on a three-day visit as a part of the composite dialogue process. Indian FM is to hold bilateral talks with his Pakistani counterpart Hina Rabbani Khar, President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minster as well as other top political leaders on a range of issues.
The analysts here consider Indian FM’s visit as an important development for Pak-India peace process as he has already expressed positive intentions to discuss outstanding issues with Pakistan through peaceful bilateral dialogue.
Krishna is going to sign important agreements with the Pakistani authorities during the visit including liberalized visa agreement and other trade & commerce agreements. ‘The new and easy Visa policy will give further boost to people to people contacts’, SM Krishna earlier expressed.
However, the analysts do not expects any progress in core issues like Kashmir, Sir Creek and water disputes between the two rival neighbours.
