Islamabad – Pakistani forces has forced an Indian military helicopter on Sunday for alleged violation of its airspace in the vicinity of the disputed Kashmir border and took four crew members of the country’s arrest, said the Pakistani military.
The incident could raise tensions between rival nuclear powers, the three wars since independence from Britain in 1947. The ratio has improved in recent months, especially in trade, but there is still considerable mistrust on both sides.
The helicopter about 12 miles (20 kilometers) on the territory of Pakistan was intercepted, said a Pakistani military spokesman, who spoke on condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the issue.
He was forced to close in Skardu, Gilgit-Baltistan in a city near K2, the second highest mountain in the world, said the Pakistani military spokesman Major General Athar Abbas country. Skardu is about 60 miles (100 kilometers) north of the United Nations-drawn control in Kashmir separating the areas controlled by Pakistan and India.
The Indian authorities will not be immediately reached for comment.
The three pilots and crew chiefs were arrested and are safe, said Abbas. He has not said what they intend to do with Pakistan or the helicopter developed a model for operation at high altitude Lama.
Two of the three wars between India and Pakistan have fought in the disputed Himalayan territory of Kashmir. Both countries claim Kashmir in its entirety.
On other hand SANA News Reported that An Indian helicopter has violated the Pakistan’s airspace here on Sunday ; meanwhile the Pakistani air force forced it to land in Pakistani land over the violation of the air space. The helicopter landed in Olding Gurmung Sector; meanwhile Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Major Gen. Athar Abbas said that the helicopter had violated the Pakistani and it was forced to land inside Pakistani area, adding that four people who were in the helicopter have been arrested and the helicopter has been taken into custody.
DG ISPR Major General Athar Abbas said that the pilot cites the bad weather for the delayed landing. The ISPR said the four persons including the pilot have been taken into custody after the air space violation.
The helicopter intruded into Pakistani territory in Olding sector in northern Skardu region around 1:00 p.m (0800 GMT). According to the ISPR the investigations from the arrested persons are underway; meanwhile the Pakistan air force spokesperson told media that the air force fighter jets forced the Indian military copter over violation of Pakistani air space, adding that the Pakistani air defence is on alert and investigations from the arrested Indians are underway.
The Pakistanis are also investigating the matter that if it was on any mission of spying or it was on some other mission in border area. According to the private TV channel sources if Pakistani officials would accept the Indian claim that the helicopter mistakenly crossed the border then the helicopter and crew members would be handed over to India after the flag meeting of sector commanders.
According to Indian media the Indian helicopter crossed the Pakistani border due to the bad weather and it was taken into custody by Pakistani army including pilot and crew members.
