The process of negotiation between Pakistan and IMF had been held in Dubai. During the negotiation process the federal government had ordered to increase the Sui Gas rate in the country. This sudden discussion was taken to fulfill the terms and conditions that are placed by IMF. In the meeting the negotiating team of Pakistan had explained that the application for the increment in the rates of Gas had been submitted to OGRA. The team also mentioned that hearing by OGRA had been completed in which it was applied to increase the rates to Rs. 59.26 and Rs. 68.64 per MMBTU.
The negotiation team also said that they hope OGRA would soon give a positive response by increasing the rates. The discussion will be announced in the coming week by OGRA on behalf of which the government would start implementing the new rates.
While on the other had the members of OGRA had said that the chairman of OGRA was not available during that period as he was on a foreign visit. And the discussion will only be given after his return. The OGRA authorities had also declared that they had nothing to do with the terms and conditions of IMF.
