Karachi: Misery gets the better of forward player of the Pakistan hockey team Shabbir Ahmed Khan as he on Tuesday announced to retire from International hockey. The decision is considered shocking knowing that the Olympic Games are around the corner.
Shabbir said that the management continued to show a cold shoulder at him. Despite the fact he was selected for National team to play in Azlan Shah Tournament on the pressure of media but he was given only a match in the whole tournament.
Meanwhile, Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) has confirmed the news regarding his retirement and said, “He does not want to play anymore and has announced his international retirement.”
It is to mention here that Shabbir has left the country to play in the Bangladesh league which has raised numerous eyebrows.
