Islamabad: Despite having negotiations and friendly meetings between the Foreign Ministers of both the countries and Pakistan expressing solidarity with Bangladesh, the Prime Minister of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina Wajid denies Pakistan’s invitation to attend the D8 Summit scheduled to be held here the next week. Director General Bangladesh Foreign Ministry Syed Masood Kandokar told the Foreign News Agency that the Prime Minister will not attend the D8 Conference in Pakistan.
However, an official of Bangladesh government, requesting anonymity, confirmed that Foreign Minister Dipo Moni will represent Bangladesh in the D8 Conference that is going to be held on 22nd November in Islamabad.
Earlier on Friday, Bangladesh demanded an official apology from Pakistan for the war crimes which they call ‘genocide’ by West Pakistan troops during the 1971 liberation war, but Islamabad held the view that it’s time to bury the past and carry forward the relations.
