General Elections are scheduled to be held on July 25th for which the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has revealed the timing for polling stations.
According to ECP the polling stations will be open for public from 8 AM till 6 PM. The time was extended one hour to ensure maximum participation during the elections. The previous end time was 5 PM.
Previously PTI filed a petition appealing ECP to extend the time till 8 PM so that more people can benefit but ECP rejected it saying that timing are ordained by law.
The turnover in 2013 General Election was 55% which is considered to be highest turnover from past many years. In previous years the turnover for General Elections in Pakistan was as follows:
