Karachi: Chairman of Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee Mufti Munibur Rehman announced, on Monday, the Fitra Rates that are to be paid before the Eid-ul-Fitr prayer. According to the announcement, the Muslims across Pakistan ought to pay Rs80 per person as Fitra on the basis of wheat flour price.
Mufti Munib said in a statement that Fitra has been calculated to Rs220 per head if a person wanted to make the payment on the basis of barley price, Rs1, 120 as per the price of dates and Rs1,600 as per the price of raisin.
He also told that a person should pay Rs2,400 as Fidya (compensation) on basis of of flour price if anyone was unable to fast during the whole blessed month of Ramazan.While, Rs6,600 in case of barley, Rs33,600 in case of dates and Rs48,000 in case of raisin.
The true spirit behind the Fidya and Fitra was a two-time meal for a poor person, which cost around Rs100 a day, Mufti Munib said.
However, he urged the wealthy people to spend more for the well-being of poor and deprived persons.
