Islamabad: The appeal for the extension of Pakistan Chief Of Army Staff General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani service has been discharged by the division bench of Islamabad High Court earlier on Thursday. The bench comprised of Justice Shaukat Siddiqui and Justice Anwari Kasi.
According to Army act the Army Chief cannot stay after his age passes sixty years, the current Chief Of Army Staff General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani is about to reach the age of sixty, according to sources the Chief Of Army Staff will turn sixty on 20th April 2013 and hence will have to leave his post.
An application was submitted to the Islamabad high court to plea the permission for extra services from the Chief Of Army Staff but the bench members rejected and said that the discharged appeal cannot be amended. General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani was named the Chief Of Army Staff after Pervez Musharraf, the ex president of Pakistan, on 29th November 2007.
