Karachi: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) made compulsory the dope testing for domestic cricket competition. First biggest domestic T20 championship event of 2012 starts from tomorrow in Lahore. Pakistan also faces the doping offences in past with their major fast bowlers Shoaib Akhtar and Muhammad Asif in 2006. Rawalpindi express banned for two years where as Asif banned for one year.
Further, Pakistan Paceman Asif again banned for one year after playing the first edition of Indian Premier League (IPL) in 2008.
PCB said in a statement that the reason behind to introduce the doping test in Domestic level to protect the young guns from basic level and try for drug free sport. All the cricketers who participate in T20 Championship randomly selected for doping test. These doping was conducted by WADA,”PCB said.
PCB also said that 500 first-class cricketers were taught about the doping during last session and alert the cricketers about rules and regulations.
