Karachi: Pillion riding ban has been uplifted in the metropolitan city by the Sindh government, media sources have reported. According to the local television news coverage, the ban had been imposed to prevent any sort of miss-happenings and criminal activities in the city, which are frequently observed on the holy occasion of Hazrat Imam Hussain’s chelum and others.
The ban was imposed on 31 of December which was a safe step taken by the government to avoid people to fall prey to accidents or become victim of any suicidal attack.
Pillion ban is imposed at the events when there are likely chances of criminal events, mostly at the holy occasions. The measure taken along with the mobile signals switched off helped to prevent any loss yesterday. Target killers usually roam about in the city on the motorbikes killing number of people everyday. To identify them at large gatherings remains a challenge and difficult task; hence the government has looked for such an alternative and has been successful to achieve the end.
