The Nawaz Government is all set to launch a housing scheme named as “Apna Ghar Scheme” aimed to cater the housing needs of low income people. This was announced by the federal minster for housing and works, Mr. Barrister Usman Ibrahim. He said that he plans to meet the Prime Minister in this regard very soon and would get approval for this project.
He further elaborated that this project would be launched in collaboration with private companies and it will be another example of successful private-public partnership after the launch of ladies only bus transport service between the twin cities in last month.
While describing the details of the plan, Barrister Usman Ibrahim further said that the scheme will consists of small houses which will be given on easy instalments and that the Government plans to cover 6 % cost while the owner will have to bear 8 % of the total cost initially.
Upon inquisition of possible corruption in the scheme, Barrister requested the media community to identify the culprits and corruption as he plans to purge them out of the system. Moreover he also assured the journalists sitting that no one would be allowed to give these houses on rent and if found, his or her allotment will be cancelled hastily.
