James Anderson who took five wickets in second inning against India at Lord’s to take England to victory has risen to second place in the ICC Test Rankings for bowlers, according to ICC latest rankings released on game governing body website.
James Anderson team mate Jonathan Trott has also climbed two places, above India’s Sachin Tendulkar and Sri Lanka’s Kumar Sangakkara, to second spot in the batting rankings, after his innings of 70 and 22 in the 2000th Test in history and 100th between England and India.
Kevin Pietersen who scored an unbeaten double century in Lord’s Test has returned to the top 20, climbing 14 places to 15th in the rankings alongside Rahul Dravid, who rose seven places following his unbeaten first innings hundred for India.
Staurt Broad who has bagged seven wickets in the match has climbed four places and is now joint with off spinner Harbhajan Singh, who falls four places on 11th place. Board has also moved to fifth in the all-rounders ranking table.
Chris Tremlett’s four wickets in the match have taken him to the ninth place in the rankings.
India still has two bowlers in the top ten of the rankings, with Zaheer Khan and Ishant Sharma lying in fifth and seventh place respectively.
