Karachi: Pakistani left arm off spinner Abdur Rehman has created wonder in the English County Cricket as he takes nine wickets for just 65 runs while playing for Somerset in County Championship Division One match against Worcestershire.
Prolific left arm spinner from Pakistan bowled tight and teasing 24 overs in a first-class match of 2012 County season where the pacers were being thrashed by the batters in a four day contest played at County Ground, Taunton.
He had taken the first seven wickets and was well on his way to take the all ten but Peter Trego came in between to take the 8th wicket.
While talking to the media, 32 year old off spinner said, “It was a fantastic day for me.”
“When a fast bowler grabs wickets in such a manner, no-one speak a word, when the spinner does so they say the pitch is no good! They had two spinners bowling on it and we’re no wicket down so that shows I had to do something right. A few balls turned but not every ball,” he insisted.
According to the latest scores, Somerset lead by 239 runs with 3 wickets remaining in the 1st innings.
