Karachi: The president of the All Pakistan Memon Federation, Abdul Aziz Memon attended the 60 year ceremony of the Memon Federation being held at the arts council. In this event, Abdul Aziz Memon stated that they were trying to eliminate the social evils evident in the society in the form of dowry and other irrelevant customs that have caused much anguish and pain in this society. He said that the best way to educate the people of the social evils was through dramas.
The president of the Memon foundation said that drama serials were a mode of educating the people in the past and they will continue making such kind of dramas in the future also. He said a large section of the Memon community came to watch these dramas. They will try to play a role in reinstating the cultural activities in the region. The arts council was presenting a stage drama, ‘Gaal May Thapay Maal’ which had been written and directed by Iqbal Motlaani. Among the well known actors to perform in this drama was the famous comedian Aftaab Alam, Iqbal Motlaani, Doctor Mona Naaz, Shahid Nasir, Haroon, Noor, Aftaab Kamrar, Humraaz, Kaashaan, Safeena, Humarira and Rauf Alam.
The drama was produced by Aftaab Alam. This event was also attended by General Secretary Abdul Aziz Alghai Bhangra and Mohammad Saleem. Abdul Aziz Alghai also expressed his views on this event and said that theatre should play a role in highlighting the vices of the society.
